The management of the current activities of the Academy of Advocates of RA is carried out by the head of the Academy, the rector, who is appointed and dismissed by the Management Board of the Academy of Advocates of RA. The rector is appointed from the candidates with at least five years of legal experience, for a term of four years, but no more than twice consecutively.
The rector is responsible for all issues related to the management of current activities of the Academy of Advocates of RA.
According to the decision of the Management Board of the Academy of Advocates of RA dated 05.10.2021, Ara Zohrabyan has been appointed as the Rector of the Academy of Advocates of RA.

The Responsibilities of the Rector of the Academy of Advocates of RA
The rector of the Academy of Advocates of RA
1. Manages the process of learning of the attendees and the training of advocates,
2. Approves the regulation of the organization of learning process,
3. Approves the regulation of lawyers’ training,
4. Estalblishes the wage rates for lecturers (trainers),
5. Approves the curriculum schedules,
6. Approves the subject programs,
7. Approves internship programs,
8. Approves training plans,
9. Forms the commities of admission, appeals, reassignment, and internship, as well as other committees, and defines the rules for their activities,
10. Reviews appeals and internship committes’ assessments based on the complaints of attendees,
11. Submits the curriculums of the Academy of Advocates of RA for approval by the Board,
12. Subject the attendees to disciplinary actions,
13. Applies incentives to attendees,
14. Manages the property of the Academy of Advocates of RA, including financial resources and concludes deals on behalf of the Academy, in accordance with the Charter of the Academy of Advocates of RA,
15. Opens bank accounts (including foreign currency accounts) for the Academy,
16. Represents the Academy of Advocates of RA in the Republic of Armenia and foreign countries,
17. Acts on behalf of the Academy of Advocates of RA without a power of attorney and grants powers of attorney,

24. Hires and dismisses employees of the Academy of Advocates of RA in accordance with established procedures,
25. Defines the functions of structural subdivisions (departments) of the Academy of Advocates of RA,
26. Defines the scope of duties of employees of the Academy of Advocates of RA,
27. Applies incentive and disciplinary measures to employees,
28. Adopts internal legal acts, that are not within the competence of the Board, to ensure the proper operation of the Academy of Advocates of RA,
29. Participates in Board’s meetings with the right to a consultative vote, as well as submits a request to convene a meeting, in accordance with the procedure prescribed by the Charter of the Academy of Advocates of RA,
30.Organizes the implementation of the Board's decisions,
31. Performs other powers defined by the “Law on Advocacy” and the Charter of the Academy of Advocates of RA.
